Patient Information

PN Endodontics is a Specialist Endodontic clinic located at a dedicated premise at 270 Broadway Avenue. Patients require a referral letter from their general dental practitioner (GDP), along with any supporting X-rays. We require your GDP to send these documents in advance (normally via email) so we can gain an understanding of your current oral situation and what investigations we need to do, prior to your visit.

Consultations are typically 30-45 minutes in length. Your particular situation will be carefully assessed, and from here a diagnosis and tailored treatment plan will be formed. Feel free to ask any questions or voice any concerns. A small field of view CBCT (3D) scan of the tooth in question is normally required as these provide much more information than a 2D image and can alter the treatment plan. We do not use prior CBCT scans done elsewhere as our scans are specifically for endodontics and provide different information, generally with superior resolution.

New patients, please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment as this will ensure you have enough time to complete a short questionnaire outlining your dental and medical history.

Patient Billing Information

PN Endodontics requires full payment at the end of each appointment. The fee for a standard consultation and CBCT scan is $400, although for more complex situations this can be more. Treatment fees range between $2,600-$3,200, depending on the case. Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) cases will have a surcharge. On average, this is $100 for the consultation, with the amount for treatment to be determined during the consultation. Please note that ACC do not cover the entire cost of treatment, as the amounts they pay are capped at the same level for both general dentists and endodontists.

Endodontic Treatment

Endodontic treatment, commonly known as root canal treatment, is the treatment of disease or infection found inside the tooth. The word endodontics comes from the Greek words “endo” and “odont” – literally meaning “inside tooth”. Endodontic treatment tries to salvage seriously infected teeth that would otherwise require extraction.
